Notice of Transparency in Health Care Costs

Effective July 1, 2022, the U.S. federal government requires health insurers and group health plans to publicly share with consumers pricing information for covered items and services so that they can better understand the costs before receiving care. The requirement is known as the Transparency in Coverage Rule.

To comply with the rule, customers of insurors must post a link on a public website that directs consumers to the cost information, which must be available in machine-readable files.

UnitedHealthcare creates and publishes the machine-readable files on behalf of The New York Times. To access the files, please visit the UnitedHealthcare transparency website.
