Primer on Privacy Course REGISTER IN MOSAIC
All McMaster faculty, staff, and students are invited to take the Primer on Privacy course. Staff and faculty must complete mandatory privacy training.
The Primer on Privacy is a self-directed course available through Avenue to Learn, and includes a series of videos with resources that can be completed according to your schedule.
Refer to the Health and Safety Training FAQ for instructions to self-register through MOSAIC, and answers to other frequently asked questions.
Students interested in learning more about privacy may also register to complete the Primer on Privacy. For issues with the course, please contact the Privacy Office.
Once you have completed your training, you can check out the videos to refresh your knowledge on our privacy training page.
PHIPA for Health Professionals Course REGISTER IN MOSAIC
All University employees who have access to personal health information during their employment and are involved directly or indirectly in the provision of patient care, must complete mandatory training each year. If you aren’t sure if the training applies to you or your role, speak to your manager.
This course is available for self-registration through MOSAIC. Refer to the Health and Safety Training FAQ for instructions to self-register, and answers to other frequently asked questions. It may take 24 hours to process your registration before the course is available through Avenue to Learn.

Confidential Waste Bins
If you require secure document destruction, request a confidential waste bin from Facility Services with an online service request or call ext. 24740. The service is bi-weekly and costs $14.00. Confidential Waste Bin distribution is managed by the Director, Custodial Services. When working remotely, retain documents that require secure destruction until you have access to on-campus confidential waste bins.
