Yesterday, IAB hosted its first session at the #NewFronts dedicated solely to highlighting news publishers. CEOs from five top media organizations including BBC, CNN, NBCUniversal, NPR and The New York Times spoke about why advertisers need to support news organizations with their marketing dollars, and each publisher's own commitment to offering content in categories such as lifestyle and culture. The Times's CEO Meredith Kopit Levien spoke about this saying, “I think we all have the same business challenge of, ‘Can we make products so good that people at great scale are going to seek them out and ask for them by name and make room for them in their daily lives however the information ecosystem evolves, period? That is the business challenge.” She also discussed The Times's efforts to draw people in through New York Times Games like Wordle, and commerce destinations like NYT Wirecutter.
