We've all taken part in games that have a set process and minimal deviation, now think about a Emergency Room with multiple variables, people and stress all in play and one which constantly changes. Along comes non-linear learning, this shakes the training 'can' upside down and delivers a changing, dynamic set of processes and after one go, changes the set of objectives again and again. What does this do? Well it creates a scaleable and dynamic environment to train in, you can't bluff or follow a set path, it's changing each and every time you interact with it.
