Sometimes having a great business means you become a victim of your own success. Here’s what to do about it.
We’ve been coaching Allied Health Business Owners for a while. One thing we find, consistently, is that the better they are at serving customers, the more likely they are to feel overwhelmed.
Unless…
They have a strategy in place to manage it.
We’re not talking about your bigger business strategy, we’re talking about making sure that you don’t lose yourself in the work, and make time to look beyond the day-to-day.
Entrepreneur burnout is a serious problem. Here is some advice on how to avoid it.
1) Set goals and establish priorities. That way you’ll know what to focus on.
2) Delegate more. You don’t have to do it all yourself. In fact, you shouldn’t. 3)Surround yourself with the right people.
4) Organise yourself!
5) Clear your mind and your calendar regularly. This will give you valuable space and peace to recalibrate. Do it before it’s too late!
5) Stop working excessive hours! Set office hours and take breaks. 6) Overworked entrepreneurs are grumpy entrepreneurs. No-one wants that.
7) Consider how often you’re making mistakes… If they’re happening more frequently, it’s time to take a break!
So what’s the one thing you’re going to do, today, to avoid becoming a victim of your own success?
Please share your thoughts - partly because it helps other people to know what works for others like them - and partly because committing to action in a public way means you’re more likely to actually do it.
