As a construction project Engineer, I know how important it is to plan, execute, and monitor every aspect of a project. But sometimes, things don’t go as planned. Unexpected challenges and changes can arise at any stage of the project. That’s why I always keep in mind that: “Thoughts give value to works”. This quote reminds me that the way I think about a problem can affect the way I solve it. If I approach a challenge with a positive and creative mindset, I can find better solutions and opportunities. If I focus on the value and purpose of my work, I can motivate myself and my team to overcome any obstacle. For example, in one of my recent projects, we faced a major delay due to a shortage of materials. Instead of panicking or blaming others, I thought of ways to use the available resources more efficiently and effectively. I also communicated with the client and the stakeholders to explain the situation and negotiate a revised timeline. By doing so, I was able to minimize the impact of the delay and maintain a good relationship with everyone involved. I believe that thoughts give value to works, and works give value to thoughts. By thinking positively and creatively, I was able to add more value to my work and achieve better results. What do you think? Do you agree with this quote? “Should I outsource this or is there someone internally we can train up?” It's a question most project managers have asked themselves, especially on projects with a large team behind you. Sure, factors like… • What's the project's budget? • How long do you have to get this stage of the project done (i.e. are you planning this ahead of time or is it a last minute problem that needs solving)?  • Who’s available to do the work? … will always play a role in which option you choose.
