Simon, The Headhunter, is a former Housebuilding Director and finds great people for your business. Someone you know, has met me. 99% placement success. I don't like CVs. Over 6000 'in person' meetings.
For years, I hadn't appreciated how little people know about certain aspects of the sector they work within. It didn't occur to me that an MD might not know much about other departments in the detail I would expect. When a leader of a business says; "We want a certain type of person from a certain type of company and from a particular discipline, my ears become very sensitive to the magic word. Why? Then, I dig a little deeper and suggest ideas. These ideas can sometimes change minds. When you know about your particular department/discipline, how much do you know and in how much depth, about other departments, how they function and what each role really entails? Headhunting is about building teams that complement each other. I think that respect for others comes from a basic understanding of the challenges people face and how they could help the business rather than frustrating it. Very recently, I was visiting some sites and it became obvious (quite quickly) how disconnected the various departments were operating. A lack of synergy. A lack of team spirit and mutual respect or regard. Thoughtless interactions. Finding the best people for businesses, is more about how they will fit in, as much as what they can do. I can delve very deeply to ensure the right people work as a team. My role is more about preventing the wrong people from joining businesses. Team spirit, respect and collaboration. It works.

Is your team always putting out fires? If so, I know your turnover rate is high. You see Top talent demands an environment that allows them to shine, and if they are always putting out fires due to → Mismanagement → Wrong people in the wrong seats → No systems and process → No clear direction They will put the firehouse down and find a place that allows them to shine. Then you are left with picking up the rouble that is left costing you → Time in rebuilding → Time recruiting new talent → Time repairing your reputation with clients and other candidates → A little note: top talent talks with other talented individuals about companies, and if you burn one, you burn their network. So how do you begin to put out the fire? → Activitiy listen to your team on their problems in performing their job to the fullest. → Align your team towards one goal → And most importantly, you need systems that help you guarantee high-quality performance every single day. What is your team's biggest fire right now?

Creator of the ONVSIN® coaching method. Helping founders turn their business into a well oiled machine.
LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT EMPLOYEE I once lost 40% of my business overnight to an employee who started his own thing. He had been scheming behind my back selling my clients to move for months. Before that day I was focused on hiring only the best and most experienced people. It was hard to find. It was slow to hire. It was next to impossible to manage and to retain. Then once I had them on board I naturally found myself holding on out of fear of losing them. This mistake fostered a sense of entitlement over time. Eventually there was a power dynamic problem. They thought they were the boss. They thought I was lucky to have them. They got comfortable. Would start missing team meetings. Start to act like they owned the business. That would trickle to the rest of the team like a virus. They knew they were hard to fire and acted accordingly. After that day I was focused on building an extraordinary system. I would hire character and teach skills. Teach our method. It was something I knew in my gut was right all along but I didn’t have the confidence to do it. It hadn’t hurt enough I guess. I started recruiting character and teaching our method, I revamped my hiring, training and on-going coaching and management systems. Eventually I had an actual business that worked without me. There’s two levers within the business you need to manage and grow. People and systems. People manage the system and the systems manage the business. I had neglected the systems and because of that I paid a huge lesson. People come and go but the systems remain constant.
