The lean mindset

- [Narrator] Before we can start talking about Kanban development we need to get into a specific mindset. A mindset called lean thinking. The key difference between lean thinking and Scrum or other agile practices is that the lean mindset is not an actual methodology. Instead of a checklist of actions or events to follow, it has values that can help us understand the Kanban process. Each value comes with their own set of thinking tools which are essentially different ways of approaching or analyzing a specific value in the context of a development project. The seven lean values are eliminate waste, amplify learning, decide as late as possible, deliver as fast as possible, empower the team, build integrity in, and, finally, see the whole. A few of these should look familiar to you as they take their queues from Scrum and extreme programming principles.
