Mud Bay’s Store Staff Members are the heart of Mud Bay. They are flexible, friendly, and focused on providing an outstanding experience to everyone who walks through our doors. Mud Bay’s Rovers are ready to quickly respond to any store in their area to help provide coverage for callouts, leaves or other situations.

Essential Functions

  • Responds to store scheduling needs on a daily basis and can work in one of several stores in a geographical area depending on those daily needs
  • Provides a welcoming and educational experience for all who visit our stores
  • Engages dog and cat owners in conversation, connects with them on a personal level, and helps them find solutions to fulfill the needs of their animals
  • Contributes to sales growth by providing complete, holistic solutions that promote long-term health for dogs and cats
  • Performs transactions at the point of sale accurately and efficiently, including opening and closing registers
  • Makes decisions based on good judgment and Mud Bay's Mission and Values
  • Stays informed about animal health, nutrition, and product knowledge by actively participating in Mud Bay training that is verbal, written, computer-based and in-person learning
  • Contributes to a team that fosters belonging, celebrates differences, and works together in a fun environment
  • Maintains cleanliness, organization and attractiveness of store's sales floor and workspaces
  • Maintains inventory, including receiving, rotating, restocking, facing and visual merchandising
  • Helps their team learn and grow by providing feedback and open communication
  • Rovers have a home store, but on any given shift may be asked to cover a shift at a different store. The list of other stores where they will be asked to work will be defined for each Rover.
  • Ability to travel and work in multiple locations is an essential function of the Rover position

Leadership Expectations

  • This is not a supervisory position.

Physical Activities

  • Frequently lifts and carries up to 45 pounds
  • Reaches overhead and below the knees including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping
  • Climbs up and down ladders
  • Enters and locates information on a computer, tablet, and a Point of Engagement system
  • Reads and visually verifies information often in fine print
  • Communicates effectively in person, by phone, by email and other electronic platforms
  • Handles cash and credit card transactions
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking on concrete or other hard surfaces

Travel

  • Travel to multiple stores is an essential function of this role

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Has a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Competent with basic math, comfortable using computers, calculators, and 10-keys
  • Highly accountable, following through on commitments
  • Has integrity; says and does what they believe to be right
  • Uses good judgment by making rational, ethical decisions aimed toward long-term goals and outcomes
  • A self-starter, but happy to take direction and learn from others
  • A team player; contributes to the happiness and effectiveness of colleagues
  • Has the flexibility to adapt to a work schedule that reflects the needs of customers, coworkers and Mud Bay

Pay Range: $20.83 to $23.95 per hour

Hours Per Week: 38 GFE

Requested Availability: Sunday/Monday/Tuesday/Saturday

Stores this individual will need to be available to assist at: University Village, Roosevelt, Greenwood, and Ballard
