Capstone IT is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager with a strong background in SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. This is an opportunity to work with a leading provider of utilities across the continental United States.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex SCADA projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires a deep understanding of SCADA technologies, excellent project management skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the planning and implementation of SCADA projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage project resources effectively. (Project sizes are $10-$100MM+).
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors and key stakeholders.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
• Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and regulations, and promote best practices in project management.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on SCADA systems.
• Strong technical background and hands-on experience with SCADA systems, including hardware, software, and networking components.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) and familiarity with agile methodologies is a plus.
• Willingness to travel as needed to project sites and client locations.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in the utilities or oil and gas sectors.
• Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and RTUs.
• Understanding of cybersecurity considerations for SCADA systems.
• Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools.
