We're looking for an experienced Senior Editor for US Weekly to assign and edit celebrity and entertainment content for print and digital. We operate an integrated newsroom. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of pop culture and knows what is important to this reader and can pivot from overseeing a variety of content from celebrity stories to “red-carpet” events.
We need an editor who has strong news instincts and experience working with reporting files but is equally comfortable working with mini feature trends and smart observations. You should be a visual journalist who is comfortable working with stories that lead with a visual narrative and be excited to experiment with new story formats. This position will play a pivotal role in shaping content to ensure we continue to deliver engaging and compelling stories to reades.
What You'll Do
Concept and create high-quality content for print and digital.
Oversee the sections of the magazine.
Liaise with a team of writers, providing feedback, guidance and support to create high-quality content
Work closely with the executive editor to ensure we have the right balance of content in the sections and in the magazine
Be available to edit long form features for the magazine
Brainstorm new ideas and bring in new writers
Edit and top edit
The ideal candidate has at least 7 years experience in entertainment, a proven track record of managing and mentoring staff and be abreast of news, trends in the US Weekly world.
We are currently working on a hybrid schedule, two days remote and three days in our offices in the financial district of New York City.
Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000
