The Senior Allocation Analyst role at The Paper Store is to manage store inventory by reviewing forecasts and store demand to ensure optimal inventory assortment while maintaining profitable inventory levels across the chain. The Senior Allocation Analyst is a highly collaborative role and partners closely with buying and planning to develop, maintain, analyze and execute chain level item plans and allocation strategies for both new and existing product.

DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the daily execution of initial and replenishment allocation by store to optimize sales, margin, and inventory turn.
  • Effectively work with the Buying team to identify and implement allocation strategies to achieve financial goals.
  • Communicate with Buyers and Planners on a regular basis regarding all issues related to allocations, replenishment and inventory.
  • Execute allocation and replenishment strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels, based on demand data and historical trends.
  • Monitor and adjust inventory levels in real-time to respond to changing customer demand, promotions and seasonal trends.
  • Analyze historical sales data and current store trends to develop allocation strategies that maximize product availability to and minimize out of stocks.
  • Develop inventory plans and forecasts for new stores based on sales targets and assortment plan.
  • Monitor new and renovated store performance to ensure inventory levels support sales performance.
  • Manage chain and store level store forecasts taking into consideration assortment factors, seasonality and store type.
  • Contribute business insights to the Buyer, Planner and allocation team on a regular basis.
  • Validate presentation minimums to ensure enough inventory is available to support planned events: promotions, catalog and print marketing efforts, specific store needs and floor placements.
  • Provide support to new associates on allocation processes, strategies, systems and procedures.
  • Generate and maintain allocation reports; tracking key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Participate in on-going training regarding technology advancements and process improvements.
  • Perform other ad-hoc inventory management tasks, as needed.

Skill Requirements For Consideration

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in merchandise allocation and replenishment.
  • Strong analytical/quantitative skills.
  • Highly proficient in Excel.
  • Proficiency in using allocation, replenishment and forecasting systems and tools.
  • Knowledge of MicroStrategy reporting a plus.
  • Positive with a strong sense of collaborative interpersonal style.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
