Overview

The primary responsibilities of the Research Assistant will be to collect information for Prof. John Marthinsen, who is writing a paper on the mistakes that Credit Suisse made during the past decade, which led to its failure and takeover by UBS in March 2023. The Research Assistant will also be responsible to helping write a paper on Swiss central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), which could help to solve problems, such as those that caused the failure of Credit Suisse.

Responsibilities

• Collect relevant articles and monographs.
• Create PowerPoint slides.
• Write short section analyses.
• Statistically analyze data.
• Assist with other research-related tasks as needed.
  
  

Requirements

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

• Undergraduate degree and successfully passed courses in International Macroeconomics and Econometrics.
• Competent in Corporate Finance.
• Competent in PowerPoint and EXCEL.
• Must be familiar with sources of information on Swiss financial markets, such as from the Swiss National Bank, FINMA, and Bank for International Settlements.
  
  

How And Where You Will Work

• Work will be done on the Babson campus. Meeting will be face-to-face or via Webex.
• All Babson College faculty and staff authorized to work on campus must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any appropriate boosters.
