Remote Work - Need Sr Solutions Analyst

We have a Sr Solutions Analyst

• This will be a 12 month assignment and could possibly go perm.
• Need a candidate that is familiar with General Ledger ,as this position will reside in the IT Accounting and Finance group.
  
  

This team develops Financial reports for internal C-Suite use.

This can be a remote but the preference is local Houston, as they may want to hire in the future and the EOG rules are Employees have to be on-site.

This position will be that of a Techno-Functional Analyst, they need to be able to do SQL queries.

A background with Oil & Gas would be very useful but not absolutely required

This group handles the Accounting and Financial data for EOG, so someone who has a background working with General Ledger data would work well here . The information and data they work with on a monthly basis is huge ; 20MM rows of data /month.

Sr. Solutions Analyst

The key responsibilities of a Sr. Solutions Analyst focus on data analysis, the development and customization of analytical tools for accounting and operations teams and in providing quality customer support for all assigned software applications. The Sr. Solutions Analyst must work closely with the accounting, operations, and software development teams to ensure software specifications are designed, developed, and implemented successfully. This position also requires effective project management for assigned software applications and projects.

Core Duties And Primary Responsibilities

• Provide Customer Support for assigned applications
• Address and troubleshoot user issues and respond to inquiries
• Analyze and address production issues with both short- and long-term solutions
• Track and escalate production issues as necessary
• Participate in the development of new or existing in-house applications
• Lead, organize and monitor the progress of projects
• Utilize robust analytical capabilities to develop clear requirements, specifications, and data flow diagrams
• Ensure Quality Assurance by generating detailed test plans, undertaking comprehensive testing of applications and updates, and managing successful deployments.
• Utilize SQL queries for issue resolution and reporting purposes
• Prepare system documentation and conduct training for Business Users
• Support assigned 3 rd party applications
• Lead application reviews, implementations, and upgrades
• Document and report software bugs/functionality issues and monitor those issues for corrective action, User testing, and implementation
• Provide Training and Audit Support for all assigned applications
• Provide and/or coordinate User Training and generate System Documentation for applications, as needed
• Provide Audit and Internal Control Support
  

Job Requirements

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting , Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years in Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Information Systems with proven project management skills
• Technical Acumen:
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience in creating business requirement and system specification documents, business data flow diagrams and detailed test plans desirable
• Prior experience working with financial data a plus
• Strong SQL skills required and familiarity with query tools such as TOAD, Crystal Reports/Business Objects, and Spotfire beneficial
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
• Database Knowledge: Experience of or familiarity with databases like Oracle, SQL Server, Single Store, DB2 beneficial.
