Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate contracts with key vendors that provide both quality and cost-effective products; find ways to reduce overall spend through efficient buying
  • Negotiate and manage cannabis suppliers
  • Maintain Kanban system, updating re-order points as needed
  • Provide cost analysis on integration of 3PL partnership and make recommendations
  • Develop system to gather information on product burn rates that will drive supply strategy and savings measures
  • Work closely with operational teams for ongoing purchasing and inventory needs

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Must have a passion for what we are building, the brand, and our customer experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing and/or logistics
  • Prior experience in consumer products industry is helpful
  • Ability to think outside of the box and develop creative solutions

Additional Duties:

Responsible for the direction of the entire procurement function, including but not limited to the following duties:

  • Serve as the centralized formal purchasing and contract administration for all departments
  • Tracks all procurements throughout the process to ensure compliance with procurement policies
  • Responsible for sourcing, vendor selection including but not limited to finding secondary (and tertiary) sources for strategic materials and/or services
  • Ensures compliance with the procurement manual and provides updates or recommendations for changes
  • Oversees department contract tracking (to include complete list of contracts/task orders, terms, action items and alert/notification processes)
  • Coordinates with the finance department on budgetary controls to ensure payments are allowable
  • Be the main point of contact within organization for departments to help create and solicit various types of solicitations (e.g. Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), etc.), including but not limited to the following duties:
  • Ensures compliance with procurement policies for bid solicitation processes
  • Prepares written documents with clearly organized, for final approval in order to complete formal purchasing and contract management tasks
  • Coordinates with VP of Extraction on new Contracts
  • Provides guidance during the evaluation and negotiation process in accordance with policies and state laws

Requirements

  • Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum five (2) years related experience years of full-time professional-level experience involving a substantial purchasing program involving procurement policies and competitive bidding and negotiation processes and coordination with legal/contracting work
  • Preferred Purchasing background
  • Well-developed oral and written presentation skills, with the ability to summarize complex concepts into understandable and easy-to-follow presentation materials including training to organization staff
  • Ability to work both individually and as a member of a team
  • Experience with or ability to work in a fast paced, high throughput environment
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with all levels of management and external stakeholders
  • Excellent teamwork skills with ability to establish productive working relationships with other departments and personnel
  • Demonstrates strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, as well as commitment toward completing assignments in a timely manner
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass all required background checks
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
  • Must have reliable transportation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
