Position Summary
CTE is seeking a Project Accountant to manage the financial aspects of multiple high-profile, multi-sponsor projects in accordance with the terms and conditions of each project contract. The Project Accountant will collaborate closely with CTE project managers, subcontractors, and the CTE accounting team to uphold the reliability and integrity of project financials throughout each project's lifecycle. Primary responsibilities include project budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, reconciliations, and timely and accurate analysis of financial information to support decision-making on the execution of project deliverables.
Position Responsibilities
Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, reconciliation, and financial analysis
Ensure compliance with project contracts and regulatory requirements, including federal, state, and local reporting requirements
Prepare and submit accurate and timely project invoice packages, including all supporting documentation
Monitor project expenses and revenue recognition
Engage with sub-contractors to ensure timely submittal of vendor billings and conduct billing reviews to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
Collaborate with project managers to optimize financial performance
Assist in financial reporting and variance analysis
Participate in project budget development and revisions
Support audit activities and ensure adherence to accounting standards
Maintain project-related documentation and records
Provide financial guidance and support to project teams
Required Qualifications
3+ years of work experience in project accounting or related field
Experience with Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel, project management software, accounting software/tools, and ERP systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in English writing
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
Four-year degree with a concentration in accounting
CPA designation
Experience in non-profit or consulting organization financial management and accounting
Experience in government contracting and accounting
Familiarity with Certinia (previously known as FinancialForce) is a plus
Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus
Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus
Familiarity with Smartsheet is a plus
Familiarity with Bill.com/Divvy is a plus

Salary Range
$65,000 – $85,000
