Havas is seeking for a talented Procurement/ Purchasing Manager to look after the Indirect Spend for our US agencies.

The role reports to the Group Procurement Officer based in Paris.



Indirect Purchasing Department

The Purchasing Department provides centralized resources and support to their global business units worldwide, assisting them to meet clients' needs and deliver operational efficiencies across the Bollore & Vivendi group.


That includes negotiations for Havas Group North America

But it can also include negotiations for any Vivendi, the world’s third-largest consumer and educational publishing group and also a world leader in travel retail

o Lagardère Group (Publishing & Travel Retail)

o Canal+ group (television & cinema)

o Gameloft (video games)

o Prisma Media (magazines)

o Dailymotion (distribution platform)

o GVA (dedicated to providing very high-speed Internet access in Africa)



Responsibilities

As a North America Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for performing various tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously in the following areas:

- IT and Telecom,

- Car Fleet,

- Business Travel,

- Services & Facilities,

- Studies & Tools for medias


  • Develop and manage relationships with high level internal clients and project managers. In order to ensure timely involvement with projects and identify opportunities to drive more efficiencies.
  • Negotiate major purchases, develop blanket or master agreements with suppliers, and engage in all aspects of contract management
  • Develop and measure key performance indicators to determine and improve the effectiveness of the purchasing function
  • Plan, organize, direct, manage, and evaluate the purchasing activities
  • Ensure all purchasing activities support and strengthen the strategic objectives of the overall organization
  • Identify, qualify, and select vendors of materials, equipment, products, or services, and conduct overall supplier management
  • Manage and develop key suppliers through Strategic Relationship Management
  • Review supplier financial statements/reports and evaluate overall supplier health (supplier risk assessment)
  • Controls on payment terms and prices
  • Implementation of global agreements locally and ensure compliance with global group policy.
  • Communication on processes, methodology and results through reporting and presentations
  • Provide procurement support in a multi layered and complex organisation with different company culture and stakeholders.
  • Consolidate spend and develop group synergies between the entities of the Vivendi Group.



Ideal candidate:


  • 3 years experienced negotiator with a proven track record of achieving targets & Several years of experience in Procurement.
  • Can operate with autonomy
  • Strong experience in indirect procurement and open to learn and explore a variety of new Procurement business areas.
  • Able to manage a varied, and busy workload effectively, and prioritize accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills: ability to liaise with stakeholders of all levels confidently and autonomously, building strong and effective relationships.
  • A business partner able to balance cost savings delivery with service, quality & risk to represent the needs of the business and stakeholders.
  • A forward thinking and constructive mind-set able to manage complaints by discussing the details with staff and recommending solutions
  • Engage in all aspects of Contract Management
  • Organised and able to prepare reports and statistics related to the purchasing function for upper management and stakeholders.



Required Competencies


Skills :

Negotiation, cost analysis, persuasion, supervisory, active listening and learning, critical thinking, analytical thinking, judgment, reading comprehension, management of material resources, project management, mathematics, time management, presentation.

Knowledge :

Supply chain, applicable laws and regulations, GDPR, fluent in English (French is a nice to have), administration and management, implementation, human resources, accounting, customer and personal service.
