To help us continue to grow our business, we’re searching for a National Sales Manager - Skylights Division. The National Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing all sales for the unit skylights product line across the national market. This role involves strategic leadership, driving sales growth, and ensuring excellent customer service while managing the national sales team. The successful candidate will be a pivotal figure in achieving sales targets and expanding market presence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership and Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet or exceed annual sales targets. Provide leadership to the national sales team, fostering a high-performance sales culture. Lead both independent and direct sales representatives effectively.
  • Team Management and Development: Manage and mentor the national sales team, promoting an environment of teamwork and accountability. Focus on nurturing skills, enhancing performance, and driving sales excellence across both independent and direct sales representatives.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and enhance relationships with key clients and major accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Identify and develop new customer relationships that align with business growth objectives.
  • Market Analysis and Expansion: Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and expansion. Implement initiatives to increase market share and presence in new and existing markets.
  • Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Work closely with the finance and operations teams to accurately forecast sales and manage resources effectively. Monitor and report on sales performance, providing insights and strategies to improve outcomes.
  • Product and Industry Expertise: Ensure a high level of product knowledge within the team. Maintain industry expertise and promote the value proposition of our skylight products effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Pricing and Product Strategy: Evaluate and strategize pricing structures to remain competitive, contributing to product portfolio assessments, new product introductions, and SKU rationalization.
  • KPI Development and Monitoring: Develop sales KPIs that drive desired performance and align with our corporate objectives, ensuring all team members understand their goals.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Develop the yearly budget, manage sales costs including staffing and marketing expenses, and monitor budget against actual results.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage in strategic partnerships with other departments such as marketing, product development, and customer service to ensure cohesive sales efforts.
  • Resource Planning and Allocation: Assess and allocate team resources effectively, matching skills and strengths to tasks and projects, adapting to changing needs and priorities.
  • Safety and Compliance Oversight: Ensure that all sales activities comply with the highest safety standards and company policies. Promote a culture of safety and responsibility among both independent and direct sales representatives, particularly during on-site visits and client interactions. Monitor and address any safety concerns related to the sales team's operations, maintaining alignment with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Conflict Resolution and Communication: Address any team issues or conflicts promptly and equitably, maintaining transparent communication across all levels and ensuring a harmonious working environment.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading sales teams to exceed sales targets through innovative approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts, manage stress, and communicate empathetically across all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the building materials sector, ideally in daylighting and ventilation products.
