Responsibilities

In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in a patient’s journey by:

  • Transcribe the physical examination, clinical impression, and plan, between the patient and physician, in real-time.
  • Provide diagnosis specific new patient educational handouts, edit existing handouts, and create new educational information as needed.
  • Prep new patient information into appropriate progress note in EMR.
  • Conduct online research as requested by physician.
  • Navigate the electronic medical record, PACS, and hospital portals.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Format reports according to established guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment and work area as directed.
  • Recognize and report unusual circumstances and/or information with possible risk factors to supervisor or dictator.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year of scribe experience (or) graduate from a Scribe Training Program.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • 60 WPM typing proficiency required.
  • Travel is required 25% of the time.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Personable, effective at multitasking, high regard for excellent customer service and sensitivity, and team orientated.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Application, iKnowMed (preferred, but not required) Centricity (preferred, but not required).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with physicians and medical assistants, preferably in a Urology setting.
  • Current CPR certification a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or other healthcare related coursework including anatomy, physiology and/or medical terminology preferred.

The safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. Masks are required in all Arizona Oncology facilities regardless of vaccination status. Candidates who accept employment including current employees who are applying for internal positions, are required to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination prior to their start date. Religious and medical exemptions are available to those who meet the criteria.
