The Modaxo Americas Media Group seeks a summer college intern to support the production, writing, editing, publishing, and promotion of multimedia content that is being created to tell the stories of the great work being done in the people transportation industry. This is an opportunity for a college student studying English, Communications, Marketing, or other related field to get hands-on experience with a production team that delivers a podcast, YouTube show, news update, newsletters, blog posts, live events, social media, and other mobility industry thought leadership content.
The Media Group intern will report to the Senior Marketing Manager and collaborate with the Media Group team members to support all aspects of content production. The successful candidate will use their strong writing, storytelling, editing, and creative skills to support the media team’s programs and gain practical workplace experience in the process.
Job Description:
Core Responsibilities
Proofread and edit copy for newsletters, blog posts, show descriptions, graphics, and externally-facing content
Craft thought leadership copy to support Modaxo Americas business units in telling their stories to drive brand awareness, trust, and affinity
Write marketing copy for website, social, and publishing platforms
Publish content to various platforms, including website and social media
Create promotional copy to successfully tell the story of the content the media team produces, and share with key stakeholders
Design graphics using templates in Canva
What you bring to the role
Education
Full time college student, pursuing a degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or Journalism or otherwise relevant field, or equivalent experience
Knowledge
Passion for writing and editing, have taken writing courses in high school or college
Understand how to use writing software or programs such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs
Willingness to learn how to use a variety of software and online services such as Descript, Canva, ClickUp, and aWeber
Skills And Abilities
Demonstrated strength in copywriting, editing and proofreading; ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form
Ability to self-motivate and operate independently while also contributing within a collaborative and dynamic team environment
Ability to remain organized and multi-task, managing projects effectively and partnering with stakeholders to reach goals within deadlines
Demonstrated attention to detail, with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of graphic design and relevant programs (i.e., Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) a plus
Work Environment
We are a hybrid-remote workplace combining in-office and remote work to varying degrees based on role requirements and employee location. This position may involve occasional travel within North America for attendance to trade shows, collaborate with other team members and participate in training and development opportunities.
