This position is posted for Kowa Health Care US, Co, Ltd.’s exciting new venture, poised to introduce a dynamic range of sports drinks to the United States market. This position will be a pivotal role for the company’s beverage division to cater to a growing market of health-conscious consumers looking for innovative hydration solutions.

JOB TITLE: Managing Director

Reports To: CEO

Location: Torrance, CA (Los Angeles)

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for building the division, setting strategic direction, and leading the expansion to nationwide markets, as well as overseeing all aspects of the division’s operations, from product development and manufacturing to marketing, sales, and distribution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Define and implement a strategic business plan that promotes profitability and sustainable growth
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of market trends, consumer needs, and competitive landscape
• Set up and optimize operational processes for the production and distribution of the division’s products
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and quality standards
• Lead the product development team to innovate and produce high-quality products that meet consumer needs and preferences
• Develop and execute effective marketing strategies and sales plans to build brand presence and achieve sales targets
• Collaborate with marketing teams to create compelling advertising and promotional campaigns
• Manage the division’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Ensure resources are used efficiently and financial objectives are met
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team
• Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Act as the primary spokesperson for the division, maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, marketing, or related field; Master’s preferred
• 12+ years proven experience in a senior management role within the beverage industry, particularly in sports drinks or related products
• Strong business acumen and a proven track record of successful strategic planning and execution
• Extensive knowledge of the beverage market, including product development, production, regulatory environment, and market dynamics
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Ability and flexibility to travel as required based on business need

This role is an exempt, salaried position. Salary offered is based on relevant experience and other qualifications at the time of hire. General range of starting salary is $250,000 - $300,000.
