Job Summary

The Manager of Shore Excursions Product Development is a strategic and creative role whose main responsibility is the development of the private and group excursions, including the selection and partnership relation with Tour Operators, and the constant enhancement of the excursions. This role collaborates with the Manager of Shore Excursions Quality & Inventory to ensure exceptional delivery of the shore excursion programs and identify new opportunities to delight and optimize revenue generation.

Essential Functions

• Research and develop Shore Excursion programs for the assigned region.
• Manage the RFP process for the selection of the most qualified Tour Operator Partners.
• Develop the portfolio for pre-designing private excursions based on guest preferences and trends.
• Present portfolio for Management before season meeting KPIs for excursions and inventory quantity.
• Review and analyze in detail the excursion components where all elements have a purpose.
• Negotiate cost and tier pricing with suppliers.
• Propose pricing for pre-design private and group excursions.
• Process contracts with Tour Operators and collect insurance.
• Load tours in the system and review descriptions for website display at browse and booking portal.
• Ensure the program provides valuable options for the needs of guests with mobility limitations.
• Partner with Marketing and Tour Operators to ensure excursion description accuracy.
• Assist Shore Excursions Specialist to ensure the necessary tour inventory is available for sale.
• Support to the Reservations and Teams with shore collection inquiries and training.
• Partners with the Manager, Shore Excursions Quality and Inventory, and the onboard Shore Excursion team to review the Shore Excursion programs during and after the voyage to handle incidents/accidents and address escalations and complaints.
• Regularly directs the work of the Specialist team.
  
  

Competency

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Geography, Fine Arts, Hospitality Management or equivalent

• Minimum 5 years of relevant shore excursion experience
• Worldwide Destination Knowledge
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Superior organization & multi-tasking
• Ability to maintain positive, pleasant behavior while engaging tour operators & colleagues
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Ability to solve problematic situations in a quick, efficient manner
• Ability to supervise, mentor, critique, and coach managers and vendors
