Delta is on a journey to become a world-class retailer by focusing on a Selling and Servicing Transformation to provide the best experience for customers in their preferred channel. To support our technology investment, Delta is looking for leaders to collaborate with the 3rd party ecosystem to capture the needs of our customers and be an evangelist for our Selling and Servicing Evolution. The Manager, Sales and Distribution Innovation will be responsible for leading cross-divisional efforts in furthering Delta’s mission in being a world-class retailer. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will need to be a strong advocate for customers, including corporates, travel management companies, and technology providers. Additionally, the role requires the ability to work across teams internally and externally with partners. The candidate will need to be able to understand complex industry topics/trends and clearly distill those topics into something that can be easily consumed by senior leaders.

Primary Functions include:

  • Engage with industry stakeholders, including Corporate Buyers, Travel Management Companies, and technology providers to be the voice of the customer
  • Collaborate across commercial teams like Digital, Global Sales, Revenue Management, Reservations Strategy, Loyalty and Enterprise Solutions
  • Utilize market research, customer and agent feedback, analytics data, and industry trends to understand customer needs, discovering competitive and functional gaps and identifying new opportunities to ultimately define the product roadmap
  • Translate business goals and end user needs into product strategy; communicate direction and product priorities to the development team and other supporting teams
  • Create and present Executive level content on status and development updates
  • Understand new technologies in distribution space and impact on the business

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)

  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience supporting travel technology
  • 5+ years of technology experience at a Global Distribution System or Travel Management Company
  • Curiosity about travel technology and distribution
  • Commercial and technical mindset
  • Can translate complex ideas into simplified communications
  • Comfortability with ambiguous topics
  • Proven ability to build an effective network across teams
  • Ability to lead and develop talent
  • Hunger to grow and learn by asking key questions of partners to drive results
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and influence stakeholders
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience with Product Management and/or IT solutions at travel technology partners, including Travel Management Companies or Global Distribution Systems
