Lighting Designer
RAB Lighting is growing rapidly and is seeking a Lighting Designer with strong project management skills.
Primary Responsibilities
The Lighting Designer supports RAB sales, reps and customers by providing lighting designs and lighting controls recommendations to meet project deadlines. They use AGi32 to create photometric models and design documentation based on drawings provided by RAB customers. They research best practices to ensure each design is appropriate for the application, as well as codes and ordinances to ensure compliance. They meet with senior staff and attend trainings at RAB and at industry events to broaden their lighting design skill set. In addition, they answer phone inquiries about Lighting Design to support customer service.

Core Competencies Include
- Knowledge of AGi32 & CAD design software
- Knowledge of design best practices and codes
- Ability to work autonomously on design cases
- Client-focused communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- 1-3 years of lighting design experience, or a bachelor’s degree in the field of Lighting Design or equivalent. Portfolio will be required
- Basic familiarity with AGi32 or equivalent photometric or 3D visualization software
- Basic knowledge of 2D AutoCAD.
- Basic knowledge of the art and science of Lighting Design.
- Revit knowledge a plus
