Lighting Designer

Job Description

DMF Lighting has an immediate opening for a Lighting Designer to support our dynamic high-end residential business. In this role you will be responsible for creating innovative and functional DMF lighting solutions that enhance the aesthetics and usability of luxury homes. With at least 5 years of experience in the field you will bring a thorough understanding of lighting design principles and the ability to make an immediate impact. This role demands a high level of creativity, technical expertise, strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with our clients to achieve outstanding results.

The pay range is $60,000-$80,000 annually (depending on skills/experience).

Key Responsibilities:

• New Project Design: Create comprehensive lighting layout recommendations for projects lacking an initial lighting plan, ensuring the design meets both technical standards and client expectations.
• Design Analysis and Optimization: Analyze existing lighting layout plans to determine areas for enhancement. Develop optimized lighting schemes that improve both aesthetics and functionality.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Prepare and deliver presentations and information packets to stakeholders that clearly articulate the design intent and highlight the features and benefits of the selected products.
• Collaborative Efforts: Work alongside other design professionals to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to the overall design project.
• Documentation: Prepare specifications, drawings, and other documentation required for the proper implementation of lighting designs.
• Technical Expertise: Stay updated with the latest in lighting technology and recommend the best options for aesthetic impact.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in lighting design, preferably in the high-end residential sector.
• Educational Background: A degree in Lighting Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in lighting design software such as AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, Bluebeam and AGI32 as well as with Microsoft Excel. Understanding of architectural drawings and electrical schematics.
• Creative Vision: Strong aesthetic sensibility with a portfolio that demonstrates a flair for both functional and innovative lighting design.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and interact effectively with high-end clients and professional teams.
