Responsibilities

Postion Overview:

Frontdoor seeks a talented and self-motivated legal manager to support the Product & Regulatory team. Reporting to Corporate Counsel, Regulatory, this role will support Frontdoor’s Product & Regulatory team, broader legal team and other business teams, and provide a wide variety of support in the legal arena to include research and analysis of regulatory compliance, dispute-resolution support with a particular emphasis on customer escalations, and management of miscellaneous legal issues and matters. You will interact with business partners of various functions, giving guidance and advice regarding in a variety of areas to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing high quality and timely support and project coordination to Legal Team members and other business partners on regulatory, product, and other legal matters pertaining to the operations and continued growth and expansion of our home warranty business and related businesses.
  • Research, analyze and manage regulatory compliance initiatives and other projects in connection with assigned responsibilities, with a particular focus on home warranty contract laws and regulations.
  • Support arbitration, litigation and other dispute-resolution proceedings and processes, including claims-related research, customer and regulator escalations and complaints, and management of discovery requests, document productions and related matters.
  • Assisting with the Company’s response to government and regulatory inquiries and proceedings, including the development of strategies to mitigate risk and defend against claims.
  • Willingness to support as needed a range of legal projects and matters beyond regulatory and product focus areas, including marketing and advertising review, commercial and consumer litigation, contracts, corporate governance and legal operations in support of the Company’s strategic priorities and legal objectives. Contributing to the Legal Team by working collaboratively with team members, timely meeting deadlines and actively supporting team priorities.
  • Manage miscellaneous legal issues and matters involving contracts and the regulatory compliance arena, including but not limited to licensing matters, compliance with the Insurance Department and other rules and regulations, and business process implementation.
  • Willingness to handle other projects and matters as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s undergraduate degree;
  • Paralegal certificate is a plus;
  • 5+ years relevant experience preferred;
  • Ability to work independently, with guidance as needed from a Frontdoor attorney;
  • Ability to work with and influence colleagues;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to make decisions and solve complex problems;
  • Strong decision making, research, and analytical skills to determine best course of action;
  • Must be tech-savvy and possess a strong willingness to learn;
  • Creative problem solver with customer focus and “can do” attitude;
  • Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines within a changing, fast‐paced environment;
  • Strong organizational and project management skills;
  • Good sense of humor and willing to laugh.

Location:

Remote/virtual but willingness to travel to business locations as required.

Other/State Specific

This role pays between $80,000 and $100,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, responsibilities, experience, and location.
