Lighthouse Lab Services is representing a biotechnology laboratory that is building an innovative next-generation sequencing and analysis platform. They are seeking an operational laboratory director with a strong background in molecular and genetic testing to help drive growth within their company. The hired individual may reside in multiple locations on the East Coast; relocation assistance is available for those who are not already local to these areas.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations and administration of a high-complexity Laboratory, including financial performance and provision of timely, reliable, and clinically relevant test results in compliance with applicable regulations and accreditation requirements (CAP, CLIA, State and Federal Laws)
Participates in all relevant managerial decisions and guides the operations of the laboratory ranging from the selection of staff, choice of methods, purchase of equipment, quality assurance, quality control, compliance, safety, etc.
Ensures all QC and SOPs are routinely evaluated, developed, and are up-to-date
Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team
Education and Certification Requirements:
The qualified candidate will possess a doctoral degree (PhD/MD) and one of the HHS-approved board certifications to qualify as a CLIA high-complexity laboratory director.
Preference will be given to those with molecular board certifications (i.e. ABMGG, ABMM). The ideal candidate will have vast experience and knowledge of NGS, manual variant interpretation, and New York Certificate of Qualifications (NYCQ) in the categories of Oncology Molecular and Cellular Tumor Markers, Genetic Testing, and/or Cytogenetics.
Salary:
$200,000-$260,000 – base salary
