The I&C Engineer is responsible for providing engineering review and support of instrumentation and combustion processes supporting project delivery in a timely manner. The role provides engineering interaction on the high-level process design and field implementation of I&C devices. The position will involve a combination of office and field work in support of the design, construction, commissioning, and operations of RNG projects.


General Duties

  • Actively promote health and safety including oneself and others in the workplace
  • Ensure safe working procedures and the implementation for all work
  • Prepare technical specifications, datasheets and calculations for process equipment
  • Specify/select appropriate I&C equipment for use in an installation
  • Check, review and develop engineering designs, estimates, proposals, standards, and operational guides with other disciplines for operations and projects
  • Provide cost-effective solutions that minimize risk
  • Act as a technical consultant to all departments within the organization
  • Review designs and estimate associated with project proposals
  • Provide guidance/review of process and related design methodology
  • Provide supervisory and technical assistance for any onsite commissioning work
  • Support to the environmental permitting and statutory approvals for each site
  • Knowledge of PLC, I/O, HMI, drives, sensors, meters, scada and other control systems
  • Work with procurement to engage third party contractors and vendors
  • Deliverables: drawings, calculations, specifications, data sheets, quotations, scope of work
  • Inspections & test plans, test documents
  • Inspect, Test & Verify: customized instrumentation and combustion devices
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in reliability of plant operations
  • Participate in and facilitate HAZOPS as required for engineering services projects
  • Work closely with technical development teams and other organizational disciplines to develop engineering designs, standards and guides for operational and project-based work in the following areas:
  • Renewable Natural Gas generation and processing
  • Landfill power generation
  • Diesel and gas fuel power generation
  • Piping systems and pipelines
  • Other technologies and activities as developed by The Company


Qualifications

  • Formal engineering qualifications at engineering degree level (prefer electrical or controls engineering)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Experience in Renewable Energy, Natural Gas or other energy industries
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Additional experience in power generation, reciprocating gas and diesel engines, gas turbine, steam boiler/turbines, pressure vessels and associated plant and equipment is valuable
