Engineering Lab Manager

NYC - Onsite 4-5 Days a week.. Lower Manhattan

We are looking for a IT solution consultant to manage all aspect of IT Engineer Lab for one of our financial services clients. As the Lab Manager you will be responsible for managing the lab testbeds, scheduling lab gear usage, and maintaining the lab's hardware and optics inventory. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Managing the documentation of the lab testbeds and its upkeep
• Scheduling lab gear usage
• Managing current and new processes for hardware and optics allocation and inventory
• Completing lab asset inventory management and registration to management platforms
• Managing the lifecycle of lab test gear, including ensuring they run the latest certified code
• Suggesting and managing continuous improvement to existing allocation and tracking processes, and automating wherever possible to increase efficiency
• Managing lab capacity, removal of no longer needed devices, tracking inbound devices, managing their physical installation, DNS registration, out of band access, cable management, and producing monthly lab capacity and usage reports
• Managing IPAM lab and continuous design review
• Managing the interoperability testbeds, driving their testing automations and increased efficiencies
• Managing configuration backups and preparations for powerdown/powerups
• Managing automated inventory for lab-related needs, reporting, and proactive inventory replenishment
• Designing, presenting, and implementing new lab processes and procedures
• Managing the lifecycle of lab test gear, code upkeep, scheduling, virtual routers, and simulated testbeds
• Conducting limited certifications, including overall test setup, test plan, execution, reporting, and presenting lab test results
• Performing lab data wipes as needed
• Providing monthly status updates
