Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner


Location: Dallas, TX


Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner onsite in Dallas, TX. The Human Resources Business Partner collaborates with the HQ and field HR teams, along with headquarters-based business leaders, to lead numerous projects and initiatives across a wide range of HR responsibilities. These include, but are not limited to, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, employee communications, training & development, employee engagement, and legal & compliance issues. To be successful, you will need to demonstrate a high level of integrity, a strong depth of HR knowledge, customer service, high sense of urgency, and a proactive approach to your role. This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.


Human Resources Business Partner Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the business and field HR teams to understand business goals and recommend new and consistent approaches, policies, and procedures to drive sustained improvements in business objectives and productivity.
  • Provide training, education, and counseling to the workforce on HR practices, policies, and guidelines including programs such as new hire orientation, performance management programs, career planning, behavioral interviewing, and other critical HR topics.
  • Coach leaders in employee performance issues, including the progressive correction action process.
  • Implement and maintain human resources policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Develop and maintain a positive, productive partnership with both local leadership and the field HR team.
  • Manage employee communication in support of a positive culture and work environment.
  • Ensure compliance of records of employment transactions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations. Lead efforts related to compliance reporting.
  • Coordinate staffing activities for the Business Unit, ensuring the recruitment of high-quality talent capable of supporting the short and long-term needs of the business. Develop networks for sourcing diverse candidate pools.
  • Administer disability and FMLA programs, focusing on effective management with respect to cost, compliance, and employee relations.
  • Continuously seek to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of core human resources processes.
  • Facilitate and maintain a new hire orientation program for the purpose of successful new hire socialization and transition into the organization, an introduction into the business, and familiarization with Company policy and procedure.
  • Develop programs to enhance and improve employee engagement.
  • Maintain an effective community relations program that facilitates the achievement of business objectives and enhances the image of the Company in the local community.
  • Ensure alignment of all local policies and practices with the guidelines provided by the HQ Human Resources department.
  • Assist with employee investigations as needed and work with business leaders on the preparation of follow-up actions and documentation.
  • Numerous other human capital and communication projects as assigned.


Human Resources Business Partner Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related discipline required.
  • PHR/SPHR preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of solid Human Resource generalist experience required.
  • Solid knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex sets of data and make business recommendations based on analysis.
  • Ability to position self as credible (garners respect, acts with integrity, keeps commitments); proactive (has a point of view, challenges assumptions, takes initiative); and a trusted thought-partner (builds relationships, delivers results).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to build consensus and foster positive relationships in order to drive company strategy and efficient methods.
  • Capacity to solve problems through creative, innovative solutions and challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks and removing obstacles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and in a variety of cultures.
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficient knowledge of HRIS and ATS Systems, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. iCIMS and UKG system knowledge preferred.
