Position Overview

The Blue Owl Human Resources team is seeking an Associate to join our growing HR Business Partner (HRBP) team. Our global HR team is comprised of talented professionals across HR Business Partner, Talent Acquisition & HR Operations functions. Our HRBP team is responsible for managing our most important asset – our people. At Blue Owl, HRBPs serve as global partners to the business on all people related initiatives including onboarding, performance management, training and development, organizational planning, mergers & acquisitions, and firm culture.

This is a unique opportunity to partner directly with the Chief Human Resources Officer, two HR Business Partners and other HR team members at a rapidly growing alternative asset manager. The role will span both investment professional and non-investment professional coverage. This position is based in our New York, NY headquarters.

Blue Owl professionals operate on a hybrid basis (Monday through Thursday in office, Fridays remote).

Core Responsibilities

Support US-based HR Business Partners with managing and executing HR processes and initiatives including, but not limited to, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and training.

  • Employee Communications: Partner with HRBPs and HR Operations teams to ensure HR related processes and initiatives are clearly communicated.
  • Talent Analytics: Partner with HR Operations team and HRIS Lead to design impactful analytics dashboards for ongoing HR Business Partner use. Leverage insights from our talent analytics to inform meaningful recommendations that drive desired business outcomes.
  • Global Expansion: Support the HR Business Partners and other stakeholders with the implementation of HR initiatives and policies related to hiring in new geographies.
  • Talent Acquisition: Partner with Talent Acquisition team on effective recruitment processes including headcount planning and creation of employment offers.
  • Employee Lifecycle Support: Partner with HR Business Partners on employee-specific matters including immigration, performance management, year-end compensation and performance processes.
  • Serve as a contact for HR inquiries.
  • Special projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1-4 years of relevant experience in HR within financial services
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Highly organized, very detail oriented, proactive problem-solver, and solution-oriented
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate people data into actionable recommendations
  • Self-starter: “rolls up sleeves to get things done”; a strong work ethic; displays the ability to work independently and be creative
  • Team-player: willing to pitch-in when needed to help on projects; enjoys working in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment; humble and enthusiastic with the desire to learn
  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel & PowerPoint
  • Can-do, positive demeanor
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload; proactively communicates when help is needed

It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $100,000 to $125,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
