Job Title: HR Generalist

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Job Status: Full-time/in office

Hours: 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM; Monday- Thursday (One-hour unpaid lunch)

8:00 AM- 4:00 PM; Friday (One hour paid lunch)

40 hours.

Pay: $45,000-$85,000

Reports to: Regional VP

Direct Reports: None

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Job Description:

As an HR Generalist you will play a crucial role in managing the basic company HR requirements. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Represent for the company in various Human Resources Arenas:

Respond to Equifax (unemployment) claims in a timely manner.

Respond promptly to union grievances and investigations.

Participate in legal investigations as needed.

Generate official internal documents:

Creating and executing offer letters.

Issuing warning letters or witnessing employee discipline meetings.

Creating Memorandum of Understanding’s as needed.

Maintaining physical and digital files to include:

Maintain Paycor Database and serve as a Superuser.

File and maintain employee documents.

Serve as a leader in the Employee Benefits Committees.

Maintain Attendance Records for SG&A staff.

BKS Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):

Staying in touch with State and federal mandates and laws.

Investigate and report on various company specific HR topics as assigned.

Collaborate with outside vendors, upper management, and employees to maintain CSR standards conscripted by local authorities.

Interact with other company departments:

Manage and execute the weekly HR meeting with the VP.

Serve as back-up to the office administration for specific tasks in emergencies.

Serve as a liaison between BKS and the holding company as needed.

Assist and instruct the operations team in staying compliant on all HR topics.

Process bi-weekly payroll as needed.

Recruiting:

Participate in the hiring process for SG&A employees as needed.

Assist with job fairs or hiring events as required for guards.

BKS Retention:

Participate in the company retention program as needed.

Get budget approvals for initiating company events.

Reviewing Employee Evaluations and appraising their pay scale as needed.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in Human Resources.

Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting ATS technology.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with team members.

Ability to multitask and make quick, sound decisions.

Familiarity with the private security sector or any related organizations that hire frontline (essential) employees is a plus.

What may be difficult about this position:

Small HR department that works with a holding company. Company policies and benefits may be required to conform to the holding company policies and benefits.

BKS is a company targeted for growth which means the job may change over time to accommodate that growth.

This HR position will include working with essential workers and office staff alike. It requires a different mindset for each.

HR may be required to do specific front desk work as assigned. This means working from home is not an option unless it is a one-off circumstance.

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Relevant SHRM Certification is a plus.
