Head of Professional Services (remote US)

Responsibilities

  • Build a class leading Professional Services Team focused on value creation for the Life Sciences industry.
  • Leadership of delivery engine with clear project management, resource forecasting and articulation of customer value creation
  • You will develop an understanding solution and leverage your experience to guide our teams through implementations, scope new and follow on projects, and to build processes on that scale.
  • Direct the activities of the team through ongoing oversight of active implementations, ensuring project teams deliver on time, within budgets, with high quality scientific outcomes.
  • Actively manage practice financials including team utilization, budget vs actual hours and project margins
  • Ensure teams follow best practice implementation processes and identify opportunities to improve our rollout methodologies and tools.
  • Develop relationships at senior levels in our customer's organizations including with executive sponsors, key business and IT stakeholders, and project team leaders.
  • To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable with Life Sciences R&D processes and scientific concepts and be able to speak confidently and build relationships with Scientific and IT leaders at leading Pharma and Biotech organizations.
  • Have a pragmatic approach to Professional Services focused on customer value creation.
  • An engineering and product mindset that is oriented towards us building the best solutions for the Life Sciences industry.
  • Strongly influencing the product roadmap to ensure that services projects are streamlined and efficient.
  • A collaborative approach to deal shaping, ensuring estimations, pricing and contracts are aligned with the best path to customer value creation.
  • Data-driven, constantly optimized budgeting and staffing forecast.
  • Collaborate across our client to bring access to product, engineering, and science teams.
  • Foster an agile culture and delivery process/best practice methodology for opportunity development and supporting new product and services initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain high customer satisfaction standards and customer value. Understand why a customer is buying a product or service and ensure success. Monitor results and adjustments as needed.
  • Embrace change and relentlessly focus the team to increase productivity, delivery experience and time-to-value.

Requirements

  • You must be a proven leader who can drive a professional service team from hiring and staffing, to managing project and practice financials, to managing and mentoring your team, to leading customer governance and negotiations.
  • 10+ years’ experience in service delivery experience in customer-facing roles
  • Life Science industry experience a clear benefit if no experience extreme curiosity around scientific use cases will be a requirement.
  • You must be a hands-on leader who enjoys working closely with their teams and with their customers to drive successful implementations.
  • You must be able to think and act strategically as well as get into the details of our projects, and our product.
  • Deep expertise in project and program management for enterprise software including internal and external team management, scope & budget control, program governance, executive reporting, and project financials.
  • Ability to understand extremely complex implementation projects and direct the team to the highest value activities.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit can excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills - customer and internal stakeholders
  • Proven track record of creating marketing materials for Professional Service offerings.
  • Strong customer facing skills.
  • Ability to develop clear action plans and drive processes and implement procedures.
  • Results oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple objectives.
