Catapult is helping our member, a durable consumer goods company, hire a Global Director of Applications. The company will not entertain candidates that do not meet the must have qualifications listed below. This is a hybrid opportunity.


Strategy & Planning

  • Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve system issues.
  • Review and analyze existing applications effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices.


Acquisition & Deployment

  • Evaluate new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the company.
  • Collaborate with end users, engineers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
  • Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Coordinate feasibility reviews for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
  • Contribute to pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations.
  • Liaise with company’s software suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.


Operational Management

  • Create, implement, and maintain a global business-critical application strategy.
  • Manage and provide direction for the application team in support of business operations.
  • Compile and maintain inventory of company software and their corresponding contracts/agreements.
  • Develop and communicate training and documentation for end users, hold training sessions as necessary, and other user-related activities.
  • Develop, distribute, and coordinate in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new systems or applications.


Must Have Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a Microsoft heavy technology environment, including 4+ years of practical professional experience in project management
  • Experience leading at least one full enterprise ERP upgrade.
  • Experienced with designing, implementing, and maintaining application environments.
  • Proficient with MS Project or similar software and MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Ability to adjust and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively manage staff.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a professional manner with technology staff, business stakeholders, end users, management, and others outside the organization.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Self-motivated with ability to drive projects.
  • Experience estimating project costs.


Preferred or Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership Skillset
  • Experienced in leading Microsoft Dynamics/AX based ERP support and implementations. (required)
  • Experience with process improvement projects. (ideal)
  • PMP certification. (ideal)
  • SQL experience.
