Field Technician

OVERVIEW : The Field Technician is responsible for working primarily on active construction sites. You will be involved with field observation, testing, sampling and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement. Note: All disciplines may not be encountered on every project. Under the direction of more senior technicians or staff professionals and project managers, you will perform routine field and/or laboratory tests and assist in more complex tasks, as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBI LITIES: Perform testing and observations on commercial construction projects Prepare daily reports on observation activities Review observation and test data for accuracy and completeness Assist with training and mentoring of junior staff as needed Work with project engineers and clients to ensure that client specifications are followed Daily communication is required with site contractors, other technicians and project managers SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Driver's License ACI Concrete Field Testing Tech Grade 1 & 2 Soil and Flexible Base Properties Specialist Required SP 101-102-103 Asphalt Certification COMPUTER SKILLS: Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
