Senior Manager for Missiles and Fire Control Financial Accounting and Reporting function. Support and assist Director of Accounting with day-to-day operations and special projects related to the MFC Business Area and related MFC lines of business financial reporting.
Duties Include
Leads basic and advanced accounting functions including compilation of financial information, journal entry processing and approval, reconciliations, and the analysis of data.
Identifies accounting issues and ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Reviews and approves standard and non-standard journal entries, account reconciliations, revenue recognition determinations for contracts, and consolidation schedules.
Provides financial information as required or requested to management.
Serves as a subject matter expert for the working group and the management team.
Identifies and provides staff resources to support system conversion efforts (1LMX).
Serves as a day-to-day leader for staff and interns.
Leverages various software tools such as spreadsheets and databases to review or create supporting documentation for schedules and journal entries.
Works with multiple disciplines to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely conversion of investment to cash.
Represents MFC in reporting matters with Corporate Accounting and external auditors.
Responsible for annual commitment setting, progress monitoring, and performance feedback for the team.
Responsible for continuous training and development of the team.
