We are looking for an Executive Assistant to join our Global and Emerging Markets Equities team at Ariel Investments based in our midtown Manhattan location. You will have a pivotal role in delivering essential administrative support to the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Managers. We are seeking an energetic, hands-on, and versatile teammate – someone who thrives in tackling many things at one time. The role is on-site in our NYC office 4-5 days a week and may include some domestic travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Calendar Management: schedule and organize meetings / appointments and events for the executive(s)
  • Communication: act as a liaison between executives(s) and internal / external parties, includes handling calls, emails and responding to inquiries
  • Travel Arrangements: coordinate and book travel arrangements, including flights, accommodations, and transportation
  • Documentation: prepare and maintain documents, reports and presentations on behalf of the executive(s)
  • Office Management: oversee office operations, manage supplies, maintain the pantry, and ensure the executive(s) workplace is organized
  • Information Handling: Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Meeting Support: Attend meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items


Qualifications:

  • 8+ years as an executive assistant to senior leader, C-suite executive
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technology proficient – Microsoft suite and Zoom
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good interpersonal skills and the collaborative working style
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to anticipate needs


Base Salary:

$80,000 - $100,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)

Compliance:

Ariel employees, including the incumbent(s) in this position, are required to: (1) read and strictly adhere to all compliance policies and procedures of the various Ariel entities, as applicable; and (2) work together with their colleagues, including the CCO, to resolve compliance issues.
