Major Food Group is hiring a Director of Restaurant Development to join our team!

Major Food Group is a New York based hospitality company founded by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalaznick. From a small, intimate deli restaurant in Little Italy, MFG has evolved into a hospitality powerhouse creating iconic restaurants and gaining national and international attention for its unique style and culinary prowess. MFG operates a wide range of concepts and seeks to transcend traditional hospitality models by offering multi-dimensional, immersive experiences that are inspired by deep history and cultures. From classic steakhouses to casual French bistros, Japanese brasseries and cocktail bars, each concept is uniquely and intentionally designed with the goal of transporting guests to another time and place. We tell complete stories and provide guests unforgettable experiences.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, has proven analytical and technical skills, and has the ability to work well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead strategic initiatives for restaurant expansion and growth.
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of complex deals involving restaurants and hotels.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis and develop expansion strategies.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic guidance on restaurant reinvestment and investment return analytics.
  • Provide oversight for the implementation of operating systems and processes.
  • Lead and mentor a team of development managers and analysts.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to development projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the development function.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and updates to senior management.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Passion for and interest in food and hospitality is a must!
  • Must have strong internal motivation, intellectual curiosity, logical thinking, and a desire to have a large commercial impact on the organization.
  • Strong detail-oriented and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task & generate actionable recommendations.
  • Clear influencing, communication, and organizational skills are a necessity. Ability to partner well with cross functional departments and work with all levels.
  • Ability to efficiently manage workload well with shifting priorities. Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong system/technical skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite with strong/advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
