We are currently expanding our team with a Business Development (BD) Director to lead our On Board Testing division sales for customers across United States and Canada. The BD Director will be responsible for growing the current footprint and building a robust pipeline two to three years ahead. The BD Director will be responsible for capture plans for large and long-term programs across multiple Commercial and Department of Defense (DoD) customers.

This is a home-based BD position with up to 50% travel throughout the United States and Canada. We expect the BD Director to have a technical background in data acquisition and testing product line, deep understanding of USG Acquisition processes, in order to make the customer interaction impactful and facilitate customer familiarity and confidence. The position will be supported with engineering and demonstration expertise from field applications engineers along with back-office support from our U.S. headquarters in the Atlanta metro area.

  • selling or working within the aerospace/defense industry with a preference in data acquisition and testing systems.
  • ability to communicate well and lead customer meetings and presentations.
  • experience with leading large capture plans.
  • experience with US DoD acquisition process.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • years direct government sales, sales to prime contractors, and/or aerospace industry
  • years of DoD Acquisition experience through large captures of programs across multiple DoD entities
  • years of managing $50-100M opportunities pipeline with minimum 35% close out rate/annum
  • ability to lead proposal response, ENs and BAFO responses
  • of data acquisition and testing systems is a plus
  • ability to present data in front of customer and C Suite.
  • to make post visit reports and share main take-aways and customer feedback to help engineering product line team schedule and improve the product road map
  • to rapidly develop a deep understanding of Safran Data Systems products, technologies, and internal practices
  • with CRM tool to log opportunities to estimate sales pipeline and adjust order forecast shared with management
  • to work with partners, consultants, and representatives to facilitate customer access
  • to work in a self-directed environment
  • to work in a highly complex and matrix personnel


Education and Background


Level of Education : BS or BA in Management of STEM

U.S. Government Clearance or the ability to obtain one is a plus.

Due to multiple interactions with the teams located in France and Germany, a knowledge of European culture and/or languages would be a plus.
