At the ThunderWolf Recreation Center, we serve as the vibrant hub of recreational, fitness, and health activities for the CSU Pueblo Campus community.

Our mission at the ThunderWolf Recreation Center is to energize and engage the diverse Pueblo population through a range of enriching well-being programs. From fitness classes to community youth initiatives, we're dedicated to supporting the wellness of our local community.

This is a full-time 12-month, administrative professional staff position. The Director of the ThunderWolf Recreation is responsible for the management and operation of the Student Recreation Center, and affiliated programs, and shall provide the vision and leadership to develop and manage a comprehensive recreation program.

The Director will manage and administer an auxiliary budget that is tied directly to student enrollment. The Student Recreation Center is a student-fee funded facility and is directed in collaboration with student government bylaws; the student advisory committee, and the VPSA of Student Affairs. Major budget expenses are tied to personnel, operations, and debt services.

The Director is responsible for providing leadership and the development of a comprehensive program for: strength, fitness and wellness, the Outdoor Pursuits program, informal recreation, aquatics, recreation scheduling, membership services, equipment rental, intramurals and club sports.

The Director is responsible for the overall supervision of the student recreation center. Responsibilities include: all operational procedures of the facility, determination and reporting of maintenance concerns, student employment and training, budget, scheduling equipment repair and replacement for the entire facility, planning programs and events, working with students and departments on campus to meet their needs when planning additional programs and events, and oversee three professional staff.

• Affiliation/Membership with NIRSA, NASPA or ACPA, AORE
• Certification in First Aid/CPR & AED
• 5 years of direct responsibility for a formal student recreation program in a higher education University or College setting
• 3 years' experience supervising full-time professional staff
• Experience managing complex budgets greater than $500,000 annually, with multiple funding sources
• Demonstrated experience with student development theories and applications in the recreation industry.
• Experience conducting program reviews and preparing related statistical and narrative reports
• Experience in the development of a comprehensive wellness program.
• Demonstrated business acumen and experience managing and providing service to multiple constituent user groups.
• Demonstrated professional experience in a number of the following functional areas: Strength, Fitness and Wellness, The Outdoor Adventure Program, Informal Recreation, Aquatics, Recreation, Scheduling, Membership Services, Equipment Rental, lntramurals and Club Sports
