Job Description

The Lean Transformation Director will lead Value Stream improvement efforts within the company’s Commercial Services Business Unit, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations. The position is responsible for promoting and facilitating problem solving and continuous improvement in alignment with the Verra Mobility Operating System. The role requires a strategic approach to applying Lean principles and best practices through technical experience as well as through building stakeholder support to achieve company financial and growth objectives. The position will provide hands-on coaching and work efforts as well as leading teams to reach objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive proactive and innovative Lean Transformational initiatives across the Commercial Services value streams and leverage Lean Transformation best practices, standards, and methodologies
  • Provide Governance structures for Lean Transformation initiatives including Standard Work, KPI’s, and Visual Daily Management
  • Develop and maintain Value Stream Mapping, streamline workflow and optimize the value stream by reducing waste and improving lead-times
  • Leverage analytical and Problem Solving skills to evaluate and measure the impact and effectiveness of transformation initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Drive cross functional initiative teams leveraging skills in Process Excellence, Project Management, Facilitation, Problem Solving to accelerate Transformation and Value Creation
  • Train and coach employees at all levels on Lean Principles, including Value Stream Mapping, Waste Reduction, and Kaizen. Develop a Lean Training Program and promote a culture of Continuous Improvement
  • Plan Kaizen Events including execution and sustainment of Kaizens, engaging teams and stakeholders throughout process
  • Facilitate Problem Solving efforts across the organization to define root cause, temporary and permanent countermeasures
  • Design and implement robust Visual Daily Management, Controls and Leading Indicators for continuous monitoring to ensure optimal value creation

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 10 years of experience with increasing responsibility in the areas of Lean improvement and Business Process Improvement
  • 8 years of experience of leading Lean and Continuous Improvement efforts
  • Hands-on Experience driving Kaizen facilitation, leadership and outcomes
  • Practical and demonstrated experience in a service and technology environment with Lean tools such as Visual Daily Management, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, Standard Work
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, Master’s degree preferred
  • Master Black Belt level certification in Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or related improvement discipline
  • Ability to work strategically and execute through strong communication, analytical and process improvement skills
  • Demonstrated ability in taking ownership and driving results. Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities
  • Flexible and adaptable in fast-paced, ever-changing business environment
  • Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams verbally and in writing
  • Ability to manage multiple project plans in their entirety, lead works streams and track the progression of the projects simultaneously
  • Extended (50-70%) travel to operational and customer locations may be required
