Description

The Development Manager is responsible managing all stages of development from approval of acquisition through construction and turn over to Asset Management. This includes assistance with initial due diligence, entitlement processing, and all discretionary governmental approvals and permits. An effective manager to work directly and cohesively with co-workers, consultants, and design team, while implementing the company’s vision and development plan. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

What You Will Be Doing

  • Establish and manage consultant schedules and budgets through the entitlement, design, and permit stages in cooperation with the VP, Development Management.
  • Assist VP, Development Management, and design team in developing site and building design documents
  • Review and Implement development design standards and philosophy.
  • Assist in plan review, design coordination, along with design collaboration with other departments.
  • Coordinate design milestones with VP, Development Management, Project Managers, and the construction team for hard cost budgets updates and construction agreements.
  • Coordinate consultant contracts, work orders and schedule updates with the development team.
  • Assist bidding, scoping, and buy-out of development and construction costs.
  • Oversee contracts, payment processing, job-cost, and status reporting.
  • Attend/participate in Design and OAC Meetings on projects in development.
  • Attend Construction OAC Meetings as requested by VP, Development Management or Project Managers.
  • Assist Director of Design with distribution of milestone documents for review and approval by Asset Management
  • Support Development and Construction after issuance of permits on relevant matters of Development Division

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in similar role.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of business, multi-family and real estate.
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in windows-based software including MS Word; MS Excel, MS Project Schedule.
  • Ability to influence and engage peers, creative problem-solving, along with conflict resolution.
  • Capacity to develop and manage budgets accordingly.
  • Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, visionary environment.
  • 10% Travel Required
