Gillham, Golbeck & Associates has been retained by a premier national real estate investment & development firm to recruit a Development Manager.


OPPORTUNITY

The Development Manager will be responsible for overall execution of groundbreaking projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to manage projects from the board room to completion, playing a critical role in shaping urban communities and skylines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Direct and monitor all phases of development, from entitlement and design through construction and start-up, ensuring projects meet timelines and budgets.
  • Team Management: Lead a skilled team comprising designers and constructors, ensuring top-tier performance and seamless operations.
  • Strategic Analysis: Evaluate preconstruction estimates and schedules, and engage in constructability reviews and value engineering to maximize efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company in key procurement negotiations and meetings, maintaining robust communication and precise documentation.
  • Quality Oversight: Conduct regular site visits and oversee project closeout to ensure all specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Financial Acumen: Keep a close watch on financials, analyze variances, and manage payment requisitions and change orders with a keen eye for detail.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Business Administration or Real Estate Development is a plus.
  • Experience: At least five years in development or construction, preferably with a focus on multifamily assets in major urban environments.
  • Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Financial modeling skills and relevant skills in MS-Office and other relevant software.
  • Characteristics: A self-starter with meticulous attention to detail, capable of leading multiple projects with minimal supervision. Strong work ethic and a collaborative, respectful approach to working with teams and partners.
