About The Role

As our company expands, we're seeking an experienced strategic leader to oversee our operational and financial realms. Over the past three years, our growth has led to daily operational complexities, diverting our CEO's focus from strategic external ventures.

As our COO/CFO, you'll partner closely with the CEO, easing daily management burdens and enabling a deeper focus on driving external growth initiatives. This includes spearheading direct-to-consumer strategies, pioneering new product development, and extending our reach into European markets. Our CEO envisions fostering a sustainable culture and transitioning to a more hands-off management style.

Your Responsibilities

  • Streamline daily operations to enhance scalability and eliminate inefficiencies, encompassing supply chain management, inventory control, fulfillment processes, and financial operations.
  • Establish robust financial controls and reporting systems to ensure financial health, manage cash flow, and drive profitability.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to identify growth opportunities and develop strategic plans for market expansion, customer acquisition, and product development.
  • Lead efforts to enhance company culture and employee engagement through effective organizational strategies, talent development, and performance management.
  • Develop risk management strategies and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Drive financial planning and forecasting activities to support strategic decision-making and ensure alignment with growth objectives.
  • Optimize technology infrastructure and systems to support business growth and enhance customer experience across different channels and digital marketing tools.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize costs and ensure service quality.
  • Collaborate with HR to develop talent acquisition and retention strategies, ensuring the organization has the right talent to support growth and operational excellence.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making by leveraging analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational and financial performance.
  • Serve as a key liaison with external stakeholders, including investors, banks, auditors, and legal advisors, supporting fundraising efforts and ensuring transparency and accountability.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of scaling a business from $50 million to $200 million in sales.
  • 8+ years of experience in executive leadership roles, ideally within e-commerce or retail, demonstrating operational and financial expertise.

Operational Expertise

  • Strong background in optimizing operational processes for efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in supply chain management, inventory control, logistics, and fulfillment operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.

Financial Expertise

  • Deep understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience implementing financial controls, reporting systems, and KPIs to monitor performance and support decision-making.
  • Ability to manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk effectively.

  • Proven leadership skills inspiring and motivating teams to achieve goals.
