About Us

As Qurate Retail Group’s newest business unit, vCommerce Ventures is designed to accelerate our innovation in livestream commerce and establish our leadership in this space while also supporting the continued expansion of QVC’s and HSN’s linear video commerce (“vCommerce”) experiences to new audiences. vCommerce includes video-driven shopping across linear TV, ecommerce sites, digital streaming and social platforms. vCommerce Ventures brings together livestream commerce teams and initiatives from across QVC and HSN into a separate, global business unit, with dedicated Marketing, Business Development, Content Development and Production, Programming, Planning, and Merchandising resources.

About The Role

Reporting to the Head of Merchandising for QVC+/HSN+ Streaming Service, the Senior Manager, Merchandising Business Development will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of our Merchandising Department. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to expand our product offerings, increase revenue, and optimize the overall performance of our Merchandising and vendor/ account management operations.

What You Will Do

Strategy Development

  • Leverage Network Connections: Utilize strong personal and professional networks to identify and engage potential brand partners that align with our platform's objectives.
  • Facilitate Negotiations and Agreements: Excel in negotiating mutually beneficial terms with brand partners, including navigating legal requirements and strategic desires of both parties.
  • Offer Consultancy to Partners: Serve as a strategic advisor to brand and retail partners, identifying merchandising and marketing opportunities that align with their goals and our platform capabilities.
  • Innovate Advertising Strategies: Develop novel advertising strategies and product presentations that leverage both traditional and digital media to attract and engage customers.
  • Adapt to Digital Marketplace Evolutions: Demonstrate an ability to innovate in response to changing digital marketplaces, consumer habits, and technology advancements to keep our offerings competitive.
  • Craft Integrated Marketing Strategies: Formulate marketing strategies that integrate digital, social, and traditional media channels to enhance product visibility and customer engagement.
  • Implement Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data analytics to inform strategy development, identify new opportunities, and evaluate the impact of marketing and merchandising efforts.

Market Analysis

  • Partner with Customer Strategy, Data & Analytics, and Merchandising Teams to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape.
  • Utilize key insights to develop data-driven recommendations for product assortment and business expansion.

Relationship Building

  • Cultivate strong relationships with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders to drive collaboration and maximize business opportunities.
  • Build our Negotiations practices to ensure negotiation of favorable terms and conditions for new product acquisitions
  • Establish our Account Management function and capabilities by building processes and identifying talent that will maintain effective vendor relationships.

Performance Analysis

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of Merchandising initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and future opportunities for growth.
  • Develop reports and presentations to communicate performance metrics and recommendations to senior leadership.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with various departments such as Marketing, Content, Planning, Programming and Finance to align Merchandising strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Merchandising professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on achieving business goals.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Experience in Multimedia Sales & Marketing: Bring experience from digital commerce, especially in media and advertisement sales platforms or experience with retail accounts in advertising agencies.
  • E-commerce Platform Expertise: Possess strong background in digital commerce and managing sales through e-commerce platforms highlighting an understanding of online sales dynamics.
  • Retail Media Network Experience: Have experience with retail media networks and leveraging them for advertising, partnership opportunities, and enhanced product visibility.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth and expanding product lines with Retailers/brands.
  • Experience initiating and driving partnership agreements.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of merchandising principles, market dynamics, and industry trends. Familiarity with financial analysis and budget management.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategies.
  • Proactive and driven mindset, with a focus on achieving measurable business results, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of leading and motivating teams, and the ability to inspire and develop talent, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and a willingness to embrace change and take initiative in identifying new opportunities for growth.

For New York City based roles only: The annual gross base salary range for this position is $126,000-172,500. Salary ranges are general guideline only, and actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience and geographic location as well as business and market conditions.
