APPLICATION DEVELOPER I

The Application Developer I programs, deploys, and refactors our solutions using industry standard coding practices and leading web technologies in an agile environment for a Mechanical Contractor.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with the Development Team and third-party developer consultants to create a variety of applications crucial to our business needs
  • Learn how to craft effective solutions while documenting code and processes
  • Participate in planning and estimating sessions
  • Leverage documentation and guidelines to promote coding standards throughout the team
  • Support custom web applications after their development with regular maintenance and feature requests
  • Provide excellent customer service to end users by responding in a timely, thorough manner to inquiries about application functionality, training, or other requests for assistance
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Education:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related studies and experience

Experience:

  • At least 1-3 years of experience with application development, or related web development experience

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Collaborate within multiple team environments to accomplish project goals
  • Follow pre-built design patterns, while developing and implementing new concepts
  • A strong customer service mindset and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to deliver results in an agile environment; Illustrates strong initiative and sense of urgency
  • Flexible: able to work on multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • Knowledge of best practices in modern web application development
  • Knowledge of front-end libraries and frameworks, including but not limited to React and jQuery. General understanding of JavaScript, CSS, HTML and related front-end libraries
  • General understanding of Node.js, TypeScript, and overall use of NPM
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio Code, GitHub, continuous integration, and other industry leading developer applications that enhance or otherwise increase developer efficiency.

Physical and/or travel demands:

  • Although not frequent, work outside of normal business hours as required to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Frequent sitting, use of keyboard/monitor, use of 10-key and use of telephone
  • Occasional travel to other project or office sites required.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • The range for this position has been established at $64,960 to $91,756 per year and is U.S. Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training
  • Your total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck. Team members are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance as well as paid time off. An industry-leading benefits package including health, dental, and vision plans, and retirement
