Apparel Company looking for Hybrid AP/Payroll Manager that ensures the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments, as well as the accurate processing of payroll and benefits. The AP/Payroll Manager ensures the maintenance of all pertinent financial documentation and supporting data related to Accounts Payable and Payroll. Must have 3-5 years wholesale experience and preferred Payroll PEO experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close Accounts Payable process. Review bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, ensure all Accounts Payable invoices received are posted prior to month-end close, book expense accruals as necessary and calculate commission payments.
  • Create required reports of Accounts Payable activity for CFO and Controller.
  • Oversee and supervise work quality, accuracy, and timeliness of Accounts Payable Coordinator. Manages workflow for team and ensures information is retained according to retention policy.
  • Assist CFO and Controller during various audits.
  • Process contractor invoices, including domestic and import for all divisions, cutting room, trucking, warehouse and various SG&A invoices.
  • Process payroll and ensure financial transactions are posted to the general ledger. Collaborate with outside services for processing, providing required documentation and maintaining internal records and copies.
  • Oversee check run process and send wires as necessary.
  • Process and issue expense checks.
  • Reconcile sales tax and ensure state payments are processed.
  • Ensure departmental procedures and processes are documented.
  • Continually review procedures and processes for improvements and efficiencies.
  • Manage workgroup with appropriate direction, feedback, and support. Ensure that all necessary resources are available to facilitate workflow without delays.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline
  • Years of experience: 5 years’ experience in an accounting management role, garment center
