Job Summary
The Associate Director, Human Resources will serve as a trusted business partner/generalist to global firm leadership alongside the SVP, Head of Talent. This role is critical to the HR business partnership/generalist function and will serve as a key point of contact for the organization to provide consultative, solutions-oriented service spanning several critical talent functions including, but not limited to, performance, employee relations, succession planning, organizational design, and learning & development. A strong professional presence, exceptional communication skills, ability to build relationships, and a high level of attention to detail is required. Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Cultivate strong working relationships and trusted partnerships with business leaders and stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to the business to develop strategies addressing complex performance, organizational design, talent/succession planning, and employee relations needs
- Serve as strategic lead for key mid-year and year-end programs including, but not limited to promotions, performance, and compensation planning
- Independently conduct thorough employee relations investigations from initiation to completion, partnering with internal and outside legal/employment counsel where appropriate to develop appropriate guidance and action plans for key business partners; demonstrate ability to use judgement and discretion to escalate as appropriate
- Partner with business leaders to independently provide coaching and strategic guidance on a variety of performance-related matters
- Partner with SVP, Head of Talent and other members of the HR department to support the plan design and content delivery strategies of firm-wide learning & development programs & initiatives
- Support SVP, Head of Talent and generalist/business partnership function with providing ongoing coaching and developmental feedback as it relates to the firm’s Talent Assessment program
- Partner with SVP, Head of Talent to develop and deliver impactful thought leadership on critical changes across the employment law landscape to key internal stakeholders across HR, Corporate Legal, and other business functions, as needed
- Serve as sound business partner to key HR counterparts across Benefits, Operations, and People Analytics to ensure continuity of cross-functional partnership
- Lead and/or support additional projects, as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface effectively and professionally with all levels of employees
- Proven track record effectively and independently managing complex employee relations and performance-related initiatives
- Exceptional organizational skills, follow through, and strong attention to detail
- Demonstrates inclusive behaviors in support of a culture that values diverse perspectives
- Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and adhere to assigned deadlines
- Exceptional client service and relationship-building and relationship management skills
- Ability to prioritize assignments effectively
- High ethical standards, ability to work with discretion, and maintain the highly confidential nature of all Human Resources work and work product
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Microsoft Outlook
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively, as well as work independently
