Job Description

Join the Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities team (GFICC) at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, a leading global fixed income manager with expertise across all sectors. We're seeking a Junior Portfolio Manager for our Customized Bond Portfolio (CBP) Team, which manages over $100 billion in fixed income assets. The role focuses on Investment Grade and High Yield municipal credit, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to our laddered, buy and maintain approach with credit oversight.

Role Summary

As an Assistant Municipal Portfolio Manager within the Global Fixed Income, Currency & Commodities (GFICC) team, you will play a supporting role in the investment and portfolio construction decisions for existing and new accounts. You will work closely with our Credit Research teams to identify market trends, analyze team member credits, and assess relative value across securities. You will also collaborate with various teams to improve portfolio management processes and enhance efficiency. This role provides an opportunity to prepare and present market commentary and views, respond to inquiries from stakeholders, and create materials for meetings with internal and external clients and prospects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Playing a supporting role in the investment and portfolio construction decisions for existing and new accounts
  • Work with our Credit Research teams to identify market trends, analyze individual credits and assess relative value across securities
  • Working with a wide range of teams to improve portfolio management processes and enhance efficiency
  • Preparing and presenting market commentary and views, and responding to inquiries from stakeholders
  • Creating materials for meetings with internal and external clients and prospects

Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of buy side industry experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience of transacting in municipal bonds
  • Experience using Bloomberg
  • Adaptable, innovative, team player, and results-oriented, with an ability to bring proactive solutions to the broader PM team
  • Excellent responsiveness and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills both written and oral and be able to communicate thoughts to external clients and internal partners

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills

  • SMA experience a plus.
  • Experience with Perform/Investortools.
  • Knowledge of municipal markets, portfolio management, credit research and/or trading experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent data and analytical skills. Advanced in Excel. VBA, Python, or other coding experience a plus
