ROLE OVERVIEW:

Our Client is seeking an Analyst to support all aspects of various multifamily development projects from initial acquisition through execution. The Analyst will work under senior team members’ leadership to assist in deal underwriting, support in debt and equity financing executions, structured finance modeling, due diligence for acquisitions, and asset management (in collaboration with the property management team). This position is intended to provide the Analyst with consistent, hands-on exposure to the entire multifamily development deal process, including site planning, land use, and the design and construction processes, in a growth-oriented and collaborative environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform financial analysis on a variety of prospective development projects
• Support all analytical and transactional aspects of the development process, including financial modeling, market research, comparable analysis, due diligence, financing, structuring, negotiating, and closing.
• Assist in the creation of thorough and concise investment packages that are presented to the firm’s Investment Committee and investors, performing and providing all support for assumptions utilized during the process.
• Track and evaluate new business opportunities, including public RFPs, land acquisitions, rezonings, and value-add acquisitions. Produce initial underwriting, summaries, evaluations, and site due diligence
• Assist in the project management and administration of existing development projects, which includes managing third-party consultants and professionals
• Supports leasing/sales functions and assists with closings, including due diligence checklists, abstracts of documentation, and following up with professionals as required.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-5 years of professional real estate investment experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree with a focus on finance and/or real estate is a plus
• Excellent analytical skills and expert ability to create and maintain complex financial models for a variety of residential development projects
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience analyzing commercial real estate development and value-add transactions, including an understanding of “waterfall” analysis for equity/promoted interest structures
• Analytical and process-oriented, with a self-starter mindset and strong desire to develop strong project management and real estate investment experience
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, organize and coordinate work efficiently, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a demanding work environment
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational, written, and oral communication skills and a strong work ethic
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, quickly builds rapport and instills confidence
